Solid State Detector Physics Scientist The function's responsibility area is solid state detector systems for XRD and XRF. Emphasis is on understanding and modelling and design of full chain from front-end, i.e from chip-level and analogue electronics, to digital electronics and interfacing on the instrument level. Initial focus will be on Silicon Drift Detector systems, but this will evolve to more types of solid state detectors. Digital pulse processing methods and algorithms will be a specific design responsibility. Detector hardware design is also part of responsibility. Your activity area will also be the overall architecture and design of the detector modules and thereby guidance of solid state detector physics / process / electronics engineers. The job requires the applicant to understand the current and future application requirements, and to work closely together with other highly trained professionals in technologically challenging multi-disciplinary projects. As a Solid State Detector Physics Scientist you will work closely with detector physicists, process technologists (internal as well as external) and electronic hardware and software developers in the same R&D team. The candidate will be active in the R&D Detector Group. |
