Vattenfall IT (VIT) is the internal provider of IT Infrastructure Services for the entire Vattenfall Group. VIT is an International Group Share Service Center that provides efficient and reliable IT-services and support. VIT has around 450 employees spread across Vattenfall IT companies in Denmark, Finland, Germany, Poland and Sweden. During 2010 the integration of Nuon happened with employees joining VIS in Benelux. Location will be Amsterdam/Schipol-Rijk.Main responsibilitiesSenior IT engineer in the client area with excellent and broad infrastructure understanding. You are used to working in an international company and have the ability to understand business needs and customer demands, as well as the big picture , translate them into solutions following standards, helping Vattenfall realise the company ambitions.Solution engineers in the team FICIC Client Development are focused in engineering tasks in the client and infrastructure area. This includes implementation of concepts through projects, develop existing client infrastructure, problem management, release management, performance tuning and technology innovation.In the coming years VIT/FIC will implement new solutions in the client area. Both in the operating system area as well as in the infrastructure. We are operating 35 000+ clients in a pure Microsoft cross-border environment. Client related services are provided in a standardized way both regarding client images, client hardware and software distribution. We also see a strong development in the application distribution and virtualisation area of clients and client aplications.Your preferred background - Academic degree in IT, mathematics, scientific or technical engineer (or comparable apprenticeship) - Senior knowledge in client technologies including Microsoft client OS and Infrastructure, Win7 and SCCM (VD, VMwareI and Citrix knowledge is a strong plus.) - Senior knowledge in Active Directory. - Good knowledge in technical project management as project leader or participant. - Leadership experience is a plus. - Good knowledge in ITIL and client security. - Team player with documented qualifications working within a cross-boarder organised team. - Proven ability to communicate with technical experts in other areas like datacenter and network. - Ability to build trust and confidence with customers and peers. - Excellent ability to work independently to maintain standards and technical roadmaps. - Excellent in spoken and written english. - International travelling will be frequent.Our offerA challenging job within an international team spread over Hamburg, Stockholm, Berlin and Schiphol-Rijk.
