Philips has a new innovation site in Eindhoven (the Netherlands). The site focus is on the development of medically and non-medically endorsed lifestyle products for the businesses Mother & Child Care, Skin Care, Sleep and Preventive Health & Pain Relief. It is end-to-end responsible for the development and realization of new propositions. The scope of mechanical development at the site includes the complete product development cycle including product definition, function development, realization and after care. Main responsibility of our mechanical designers is the development and integration of all mechanical parts into assemblies of our consumer products.Because of increasing innovation requests from our businesses, we currently are looking for Senior Mechanical Developers. Candidate responsibilities As a Senior Mechanical Product Developer you translate complex technical issues into uncomplicated consumer products. You work on product development from concept to detailed design in a multidisciplinary team. You always safeguard our trusted values regarding functionality, design and simplicity. In most of our projects you will be the technical counterpart of our internal consumer marketing managers, our industrial designers, our manufacturing engineers (industrialization groups) and suppliers in Eastern Europe or in the Far East. You are also responsible for: - Translating commercial, functional and design specifications into technical concepts; - Developing and engineering appropriate mechanical designs; - Safeguarding functionality, performance, quality, reliability and manufacturability of products; - Releasing components, modules and products for mass production; - Leading, coaching and stimulating the team of product engineers and developers within the projects; - Planning, realizing and steering the mechanical product development and manage the cross functional aspects as a mechanical project leader; Generating input for the innovation roadmap and strategy.
